Haute Heritage

March 10, 2011

Just as I was beginning to get utterly sick of my wardrobe, Banana Republic saved the day and sent over this amazing vest from their new heritage collection. It’s the perfect combination of edgy and feminine with its bulky cargo pockets, soft army green hue and silky fabric. Since I’m beyond obsessed with layering (see my last layered outfit here), I decided to put it together with a black long sleeve shirt and comfy cotton dress and cinched the whole look with my grandmother’s belt that’s pretty close to falling apart. Since it’s still breezy and chilly in NYC I busted out one of my favorite capes (see my other cape look here)  that really didn’t get enough wear this season. Although with my upcoming trip home to San Francisco, I’m thinking it might be the ideal piece of outerwear for the city’s notorious foggy weather.

{ Morphine Generation cape, Aqua sweatshirt, gifted Banana Republic Heritage vest, American Apparel long sleeve shirt, vintage dress, my grandmother’s belt, Urban Outfitters gloves, YSL Muse bag, Dr. Martens boots }

    the thing is I have seen not enough capes this season although I love them. The color of the cape is gorgeous, the dark blue is perfect with the green shirt. I love the layers of your outfit, but what I love the most are the details on the cape, your shoulders look fierce. The gloves are perfect and they really turn up the volume
