Silver Soled

March 7, 2011

One of the many reasons I love fall and spring is because the weather allows for serious layering…a style favorite of mine. New York has had a few glimpses of spring weather these last couple of weeks and my outfits and I have embraced those mildly warm days like nobody’s business. I wore this outfit the other day to run some errands and to spend some serious hours writing in one of my favorite coffee shops, Doma (a wonderful recommendation from my favorite NYC foodie, Erin).

When I first put this outfit together I felt it was a little boring, so, to spice things up I decided to wear my rather eccentric silver cowboy booties that I scored for $30 at Assembly New York. And although a bit chilly at times, I must say that this delightful cashmere sweater kept me pretty warm, and it’s also possibly the softest thing I own, so that doesn’t hurt. The only thing I wish I had for this outfit? A nerdy pair of tortoise shell eyeglasses. But alas, I don’t need glasses and am not sure I can justify wearing clear lenses…at least not yet.

Wow I love the layers, it look fabulous. The combination of the cardigan with the blouse is fantastic. The jacket makes it a little bit more chique, but what I love the most are the exuberating shoes, the shape and the color looks phenomenal. I really love this outfit, you think it would look so plane, but it isn’t it looks very exciting and stylish

This ensemble is definitely a winner! I love the addition of the rust-colored sweater to liven up the neutrals….and the booties! 🙂
