Warm in Fairisle

November 17, 2010

No print screams Winter quite like Fair Isle; a cozy knit technique featuring complicated patterns and images of snowflakes and/or reindeer. Each winter stores bust out some of the most deliciously soft fair isle knits and for some reason I have yet to purchase any. Although I grew up in California, I’ve lived in snowy climates for over six years now and think it’s about time that I add some of these snuggly knits to my winter wardrobe. Just looking at the pieces I’ve selected below make me want to curl up in front of a fire with a cup of hot chocolate while watching the snow fall outside my window – one of the best parts of the cold, blustery season.

Have you found any cute (and warm) fingerless gloves that convert into mittens? I’ve been looking everywhere…
