Fairytale Wedding

October 18, 2010

As promised, here is the post on my brother Austin’s wedding to my now sister (in law) Arianna! But before I delve into the ins and outs of the most beautiful wedding in history, let me just preface this entire post by saying that I have been sitting here surrounded by tears and tissues of joy. Never in a million years did I think I would be this emotional about my brother’s wedding (especially weeks after it happened), but it was honestly one of the most moving and beautiful things I’ve ever experienced and I could not be happier for them.

And now onto the wedding!

Austin and Arianna tied the knot on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at Edith Wharton’s home in Lennox, Massachusetts. The weather could not have been more perfect – the sun was shining, the leaves were a mix of brilliant greens and rusty reds and oranges, and the air was just cool enough that we were neither hot nor cold. Arianna walked down the pathway pictured above to the orchestra playing “Fools Rush In”, as my brother Austin stood at the altar with tears of utter happiness in his eyes.

They both prepared their own vows, and as they were being pronounced man and wife leaves began falling from the trees decorating the altar and pathway. It honestly felt like a Disney was passing through the wedding, I was just waiting for a fluffy bunny rabbit or Bambi to come prancing through and pick the leaves out of Arianna’s veil.

After the ceremony we all went to take the wedding party photos before heading to the dining area for a scrumptious meal and then an epic night of non-stop dancing (no seriously, someone threw their back out…). My other brother Philip also happens to be an incredible karaoke singer and as per the request of the bride and groom, he got on stage with the band to serenade them with the Wham song “Careless Whisper”. This obviously unleashed my own personal love of karaoke and within no time I was up on stage singing “Just What I Needed” with both of my brothers and my Dad.

Most of the time I find that weddings aren’t necessarily fun and enjoyable events, but I know I’m speaking for everyone who attended the wedding when I say that this was hands down one of the most stunning and incredibly FUN weddings ever. A part of me wishes I could go back and relive it all over again! But since that seems to be out of the question, here are some photos so that you and I can relive the memory together!

The entire day was a truly magical! Austin & Arriana’s vows were poignant and beautiful. Every couple should read them. The flowers and colors were incredible mirrors of the fall season. And you looked amazing!
